Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit and support a diverse team of volunteers, ensuring they are fully integrated into the team and feel valued and supported.
  • Build relationships with local communities and partners, promoting the benefits of volunteering and raising awareness of our centre and Blue Cross.
  • Work closely with Centre Managers and Assistant Managers to ensure our volunteers are equipped to make a positive impact.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase volunteer engagement and retention, ensuring our volunteers feel motivated and empowered to make a difference.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure a seamless volunteer experience, from recruitment to placement and beyond.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to promote the work of Blue Cross and the benefits of volunteering to a range of external stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and focused, with a creative and forward-thinking approach to volunteering.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with people at all levels, with a passion for ensuring volunteers have the right opportunities to thrive in their roles.
  • Organised, flexible, and analytical, with the ability to work to targets and manage a diverse team of volunteers.
  • Approachable and supportive manner, with the confidence to deal with volunteer situations and offer pragmatic solutions.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Demonstrable experience of supervision or management of volunteers.
  • Good experience of running and marketing recruitment campaigns for volunteer roles.
  • Experience of working with local communities and promoting volunteer opportunities.
  • Working with and relationship building with a range of external stakeholders.
  • Good experience of actively managing a bank of clients or volunteers.
  • High standards of verbal and written communication.
  • Previous experience in working in a client-focused environment where delivering a high level of customer satisfaction is the norm.
  • Strong organisational, administration, and analytical skills, including use of computerised systems.
  • Good interviewing and recruitment skills.
  • An awareness of health and safety legislation.
  • Current full driving licence.
  • Ability to demonstrate, understand, and apply our Blue Cross values.
