Flagship Consulting, a prominent Engineering Consultancy specializing in the Water, Environment, and Power sectors, is looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to enhance our Engineering Team. In this role, you will engage directly with both internal and external stakeholders across various sectors including water, wastewater, bioresources, and occasionally industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities:- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of water and sewage treatment processes along with the associated equipment/system requirements.
- Exhibit proficiency in hydraulic calculations, including but not limited to pipelines, pump operations, and screen installations.
- Possess knowledge of DSEAR, CDM, WIMES, British and European Standards, and other relevant statutory and regulatory guidelines.
- Create clear and precise drawings and sketches, both hand-drawn and using proprietary software, while managing CAD resources for engineering drawings.
- Maintain commercial and contractual awareness throughout project execution.
- Utilize Microsoft Office 365 effectively in daily tasks.

Responsibilities will include:
- Conducting feasibility studies, outline and detailed mechanical design, including P&IDs, hydraulic design, risk assessments, control philosophies, commissioning strategies, cost and program estimations, and specifications for plant and equipment.
- Writing technical reports throughout all project phases.
- Producing general arrangement and detailed mechanical design drawings.
- Participating in Hazard Studies, including HAZOP, Access, Lifting, and Maintenance assessments.
- Developing both standard and customized design solutions for the water industry and beyond.
- Evaluating CAPEX and OPEX implications of design decisions at every project stage.
