Job Description

Our client, a leading company in the logistics industry, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Logistics Operator to join their team at their Edinburgh, Newbridge facility. As a Logistics Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the warehouse and distribution processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Pack, stock, organize, and rearrange products in the warehouse in a neat and clean manner.
  • Organize and maintain accurate records of inventories.
  • Monitor and manage inventory control, including receiving and processing deliveries.
  • Manage and handle shipping, loading, and unloading of products.
  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently.
  • Handle delicate and sensitive products with care.
  • Drive company vehicles, including vans, trucks, and passenger cars, to transport warehouse and logistics materials.
  • Use necessary tools and accessories to maintain and manage the warehouse.
  • Integrate best practices in handling warehouse materials and develop new strategies to streamline processes and reduce costs.
  • Manage inventory, warehouse, transportation, and other logistics processes.
  • Process received deliveries and distribution to the factory efficiently.
  • Process production orders and material/component requests to the factory.
  • Administer stock control and perform metrics reporting and data analysis tasks to identify issues and opportunities for process improvements.
  • Partner and communicate with manufacturers, suppliers, and customers.
  • Manage and develop the logistics team.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in a similar store or logistics environment.
  • Firm grasp of supply chain, inventory, and distribution principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and proven competence in a similar role.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and maintain good timekeeping.
  • Flexibility and ability to show initiative.
  • Previous SAP knowledge is an advantage.
  • Confident using Windows-based PC programs.
Personal Qualities:
  • Previous experience working in a similar store or logistics environment.
