Electrical Safety Training Specialist

Overview

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering specialized training in Power Engineering Operations tailored to the energy and utility sectors, as well as industrial and commercial clients. Your expertise will encompass the creation, execution, and evaluation of training programs focused on Electrical Power, Electrical Safety, and internal operational authorization, including both high and low voltage systems. You will also be tasked with generating performance reports for participants and providing recommendations for their designation as competent, authorized, or senior authorized personnel.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Conduct a diverse range of operational and technical training sessions for various clients, including independent network operators, authorizing engineers, electrical contractors, manufacturers, and public sector organizations.

    • Design and implement new training programs to fulfill client needs

    • Develop electrical procedures and technical documentation

    • Evaluate and recommend authorizations for both customer and internal personnel

    • Adhere to company protocols for course design and delivery, ensuring compliance with established standards and accreditations

    • Prepare all training materials and practical setups ahead of course delivery

    • Ensure the health and safety of the training environment, equipment, and participants during sessions
Required Skills and Qualifications

Educational Background

Essential

• Technical qualification in an electrical discipline

• Electrical craft skills or apprenticeship credentials

• HNC/Degree in electrical power engineering or a related field

• Teaching or lecturing certification, such as Certificate to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTTLS)

• Assessors qualification, such as Training Assessment, Quality & Assurance (TAQA) or A1

• Health & Safety certification (IOSH or NEBOSH) is a plus

Experience Requirements

Essential

• Background in electrical or mechanical engineering

• Familiarity with UK safety regulations and standards

• Proven ability to deliver effective training

Desirable

• Experience in a training or educational setting

• Background in the power sector is advantageous
