About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at a well-resourced special school in Yeovil. The successful candidate will have a strong background in supporting children with a range of special educational needs, including learning difficulties and disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide in-class support to students with SEND, working closely with teachers to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
  • Assist with the delivery of lessons, including preparing materials and resources, and supporting students with their work.
  • Help to create a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social and emotional well-being among students.
  • Collaborate with other support staff and teachers to share best practices and improve student outcomes.
Requirements
  • Relevant experience working with children with SEND, preferably in a special school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Related qualification or ability to demonstrate relevant experience.
