Job Overview

We are seeking highly skilled and dedicated individuals to join our team at the Transformation Unit as Advanced Specialist Cardiac Physiologists/Echocardiographers. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a large tertiary centre, district general, and community settings, providing a wide range of cardiac diagnostic services.

The Transformation Unit is committed to developing staff and actively developing new roles for service provision. Our mission is to improve the health and quality of life for our patients by building an organisation that develops and invests in the individuals that work here.

Main Duties of the Job
  1. Independently practises with a high level of skill and autonomy at Advanced Specialist level in Echocardiography.
  2. Independently practises a wide range of other cardiac physiology procedures.
  3. Provides effective day-to-day leadership of the cardiac physiology team within the advanced specialist field and other areas when required.
  4. Actively participates in practical and theoretical training and development of multidisciplinary healthcare professionals from inside and outside of the organisation.
  5. Participates in cardiac and associated medical research as integral to the role.
  6. Undertakes any other duties deemed appropriate to the band when requested by the Principal Cardiac Physiologist.
Person Specification
  • BSc Clinical Physiology/Healthcare Science or MSc Clinical Physiology/Healthcare Science or Equivalent Experience and qualifying long service.
Experience
  • Practical and formal teaching of Cardiac Physiologists and other HCPs.
  • Tertiary cardiac physiology practice.
  • Invasive cardiac physiology practice.
  • Participation in cardiac research.
Skills
  • Competent to practise a wide range of cardiac physiology diagnostics and interventions.
Knowledge
  • Advanced specialist knowledge of Cardiac Imaging.
