We are partnering with a Local Authority in Newry Mourne and Down to fill a Countryside Warden position on a 3-month contract, with a high likelihood of extension. If you're interested, please submit your CV for immediate consideration.
Key Responsibilities:- Contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring, and review of strategies, policies, and procedures to meet current and future requirements for Tyrella and Murlough Beaches, aligning with best practices and legislative changes.
- Conduct market research and promote facilities, including seeking funding, to develop a range of events that encourage greater enjoyment, use, and public access, consistent with a visitor attraction and conservation area.
- Identify and agree on an appropriate program that meets the demands of the visitor attraction sector while remaining environmentally sensitive in terms of countryside conservation.
- Perform risk assessments for all countryside water hazards to ensure compliance with the Council's Water Safety policy.
- Lead, motivate, and appraise staff reporting directly to the post holder within agreed timescales, promoting staff development to ensure the coordination of all work programs and achievement of Council objectives.
- You should be available to work immediately or at short notice.
- You should have the right to work in the U.K.
