East Renfrewshire Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Child Development Officer to join our team.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with the management team to deliver exceptional care and educational experiences for children aged 0-5 years and their families.

Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of engaging programs that meet the diverse needs of young children.
  • Foster a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth.
  • Work collaboratively with parents and caregivers to support children's development both at home and in the center.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to children's progress and well-being.
Qualifications:

To be successful in this position, you will require:

  • HNC Childhood Practice at SCQF Level 7 or equivalent qualification recognized by SSSC.
  • SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 7 or equivalent qualification recognized by SSSC.
  • Experience working with children with additional support needs is highly desirable.
Additional Requirements:

This role is considered Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. It is an offense to apply if you are barred from working with children. If you have lived or worked in any country outside the UK in the past 10 years, there may be a requirement for an overseas police check.

You must currently hold SSSC registration or eligibility to apply from commencement of employment (you must complete registration within the first 6 months of employment).
