Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist alternative provision in Cosham. Our school provides education for students who have been permanently excluded from mainstream school or have medical/mental health needs that prevent them from accessing their mainstream place.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the teaching and learning of SEN pupils across the school, working with struggling pupils or those who have become stifled by the curriculum.
  • Help students meet their potential through smaller booster groups and 1:1 sessions.
  • Support pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.
  • Work closely with the SENCO to monitor and advance developments in both academic and social areas.

Requirements:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
