We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mammographer to join our Breast Screening team at InHealth Group. As a Senior Mammographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to our patients and contributing to the success of our Breast Screening program.
Key Responsibilities- Take high-quality mammograms and participate in the unit's Quality Assurance Program
- Indirectly supervise and mentor Assistant Practitioners in the workplace
- Be competent at obtaining additional views of the breast at Assessment clinics
- Prepare and assist in biopsy procedures, including targeting for stereotactic examinations
- Participate in a rota to cover work on mobile screening sites
- Ensure sufficient supplies are available at mobile sites and arrange transportation if necessary
- Be competent to use all clinical equipment used by the Service
- Keep up to date with current trends and techniques in mammography
- Deal with nervous or anxious clients
- Record clinical observations as part of the screening process
- Be confident and professional when positioning women who are naked from the waist up
- Enter all quality assurance data on the computer
- Deal with equipment malfunction and know when to suspend its use
- Maintain a current CPD portfolio
- Abid by the Ionising Radiation Regulations
- Identify films suitable for teaching purposes
- BSc in Radiography
- PG Cert in Mammography
- HCPC registration
- Ability to listen and communicate effectively
- Ability to work co-operatively across organisational boundaries
- Maintain and demonstrate the appropriate and necessary technical knowledge for breast imaging
