Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualised support to the student, helping them engage with coursework and stay on track with their studies.
  • Implement strategies tailored to the student's specific needs, whether they relate to physical, emotional, or academic challenges.
  • Offer encouragement and guidance, helping the student build confidence and navigate social situations in the college setting.
  • Work closely with college staff, SEN coordinators, and external professionals to ensure the student's learning plan is effectively delivered.
  • Support the student in developing skills that will help them achieve greater independence both in and out of the classroom.
Requirements
  • Experience in SEN support, either in education, healthcare, or social care settings.
  • A caring and patient approach to supporting students with a range of needs.
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with both the student and college staff.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to adapt your approach based on the student's evolving needs.
  • Further education experience is desirable but not essential.
