Job Summary:

The Casual Class 1 Driver position at Gregory Distribution involves operating a Class 1 (CE) licensed vehicle for shunting and delivery purposes. The ideal candidate will possess a valid UK Class 1 CE Licence, a current DCPC Card, and a Digital Tachograph Driver Card.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shunting and loading/unloading of trailers, ensuring load security and adhering to site safety policies.
  • Shunting between two sites and moving trailers on and off loading bays.
  • Moving trailers to be parked in allocated areas ready for delivery.
  • Liaising with the Transport Office regarding vehicle parking in the yard.
  • Carrying out local collections and deliveries as required.
  • Logging of trailers in and out of the depot.
  • Attending regular training sessions.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Valid UK Class 1 CE Licence.
  • Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
  • Previous experience in shunting is advantageous.
  • Counterbalance licence is preferable, but not essential as full training can be provided.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Confident, polite, and a team player.
  • Fitness, flexibility, hard work, and self-motivation are essential for this role.
