Job Summary:

The Wellbeing Support Specialist will play a vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing of vision-impaired ex-service people. This is a full-time position that requires a qualification in a field such as health and social care, sports, exercise, recreation, IT, art, or similar.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the wider health and wellbeing team to deliver varied wellbeing programmes designed to give vision-impaired ex-service people the motivation and ability to live a full, healthy lifestyle and engage in meaningful activities.
  • Work as part of a team to research, plan, organise, and facilitate a holistic wellbeing programme to be delivered to vision-impaired ex-service people.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vision-impaired ex-service people, understanding their needs and preferences to deliver tailored support.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure a seamless delivery of services and support.
  • Contribute to the development of new programmes and services to meet the evolving needs of vision-impaired ex-service people.

Requirements:

  • Qualification in a field such as health and social care, sports, exercise, recreation, IT, art, or similar.
  • Empathy and a caring personality to always put the needs of the vision-impaired ex-service people first.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to work on a 5-week rolling rota, covering days, evenings, and weekends.

Our client helps vision-impaired ex-service people of every generation rebuild their lives after sight loss. They help vision-impaired ex-service people lead independent and fulfilling lives by supporting them with their in-depth expertise, experience, and full range of services.

This position is subject to Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Checks.
