This position is ideal for a seasoned Scrub Nurse or Practitioner eager to advance their career. A commitment to delivering exceptional service and prioritizing patient care is essential. Candidates should possess a minimum of 2-3 years of experience, ideally in both public and private healthcare environments. A strong work ethic and a patient-centered approach are paramount as we strive for excellence.

Nestled in a tranquil area, our independent private hospital has recently been recognized as the leading facility in the nation for patient care, according to a recent survey. Notably, all profits generated support our on-site hospice.
Job Duties
- Conducting comprehensive assessments, planning, delivering, and evaluating high-quality peri-operative patient care.
- Leading teams as a team leader to ensure compliance with safety protocols and the efficient operation of surgical lists.
- Demonstrating exceptional teamwork within the Theatre Suite and across the broader hospital setting.
- Actively participating as a team member, rotating through various areas of the theatre suite to foster a unified team and achieve collective goals.
- Effectively managing departmental resources.
- Engaging in the education, training, and development of fellow staff members.
- Ensuring all surgical equipment is inspected prior to use, with any issues reported immediately.
- Aiding in the prevention of cross-contamination by adhering to departmental policies regarding attire, maintaining a clean workspace, and following decontamination and sterilization protocols.
Candidate Profile
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with a recognized postgraduate theatre qualification or equivalent experience, or Registered Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) with a Certificate in Higher Education/Diploma.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Significant post-registration experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of theatre practices.
- Experience in orthopaedic and urological procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience across a variety of surgical specialties.
- Specialized knowledge in operating theatre care.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport, listen actively, and negotiate effectively.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing shift requirements.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rota if necessary.
- Ability to perform under pressure and maintain self-awareness in challenging situations.
