We are seeking Traffic Safety Assistants
Are you interested in becoming an integral part of your local community in a term-time role that offers an excellent work-life balance? North Lanarkshire Council is looking for permanent part-time Static Traffic Safety Assistants and Mobile Traffic Safety Assistants to fill vacancies in our neighborhoods.
In this role, you will be crucial in ensuring the safety of pedestrians, particularly children, as they cross the road. A protective uniform and comprehensive training will be provided to equip you for this essential position.
Candidates must possess strong road awareness and effective communication skills. You should be courteous, approachable, punctual, self-motivated, reliable, and capable of working independently.
As a Mobile Traffic Safety Assistant, you will not be assigned to a fixed location and will be required to travel throughout designated areas. Therefore, the ability to travel independently is necessary to deliver this vital service. We will strive to keep your assignments close to your home whenever possible.
The capacity to work in various weather conditions is essential.
Applicants will need to become a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Group Scheme (PVG) prior to commencing this role.
