The Lead Cost Estimator will focus on new construction residential projects, managing budgets that can reach up to £40 million.

Key responsibilities will include procurement activities, particularly negotiating contracts with subcontractors and supply chain associates.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • A seasoned Lead Cost Estimator with experience in a top-tier development or contracting firm.
  • Proven track record in the residential sector, ideally with multi-phase developments and high-rise constructions.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage individual workload effectively.
  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Proficient in standard measurement methods.
  • Possession of a valid driving license.

Key Responsibilities of the Lead Cost Estimator:

  • Evaluate incoming tenders, specifications, and contractual documents to assess risks.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive, qualified tender submissions.
  • Participate in pre-tender site assessments and conduct site surveys.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in relevant software applications.
  • Conduct site visits and estimate costs based on scoping documents.
  • Make informed decisions to optimize opportunities.
  • Engage in negotiations with clients to secure contracts.
  • Attend pre-contract meetings with clients as necessary.
  • Oversee subcontractor packages and develop a work schedule.
  • Generate valuations, variations, and final accounts.
