Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Accountant to join our team in Basingstoke. As a key member of our finance function, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing and analyzing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with Eni Group policies and IFRS standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Financial Reporting and Compliance

Coordinate the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting process, ensuring timely submission of reports to EniProgetti Head Office in Italy. Ensure consistency with Eni Group policies and IFRS standards, and assist the Head Office team with statutory accounts.

Audit and Compliance

Coordinate and follow up on the audit process, resolving any queries from external auditors in a timely manner. Ensure branch finance procedures are compliant with legal and fiscal requirements and Eni rules.

Financial Accounting and Reporting

Coordinate accounting and reporting processes, including annual accounts and related audit processes. Develop and adapt the cost allocation model as business needs change.

Payroll and Payables/Receivables

Coordinate the recording of finance aspects of payroll and other personnel costs, and related reconciliations to control accounts. Periodically reconcile vendors and customers, and act upon discrepancies.

Tax and Compliance

Liaise with tax consultants for Corporation Tax matters, VAT, and be the focal point within the finance function for business rates, PAYE, and NIC.

Reporting and Analysis

Prepare and submit the reporting package for EniProgetti Head Office, and perform ad hoc duties as required.

Requirements
  1. Qualifications and Experience

3 years post-qualification experience (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent). Experience with ERP systems (SAP) is desirable.
