We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Animal Technician to join our team at Charles River. As an Animal Technician, you will play a critical role in the care and well-being of our research animals, ensuring their health and safety are maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the daily care and maintenance of our animal colonies, including monitoring their health and reporting any concerns to the relevant team members.
- Perform routine husbandry tasks, such as cleaning cages and equipment, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Assist in the preparation and administration of animal feed and water, and ensure that all animals have access to fresh food and water at all times.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance your skills and knowledge, and contribute to the development of new procedures and protocols.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure the smooth operation of our animal care facilities.
- Education to degree level or equivalent, including Animal Technician level 2 or other animal-related qualifications.
- Good understanding of Home Office and accreditation body guidelines.
- Knowledge and experience of licensed procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable means of transport or a willingness to use public transport.
