About the Role

This project is focused on exploring the scalability of atomic quantum hardware by overcoming barriers to achieving high fidelity coherent control and entanglement using both trapped ions and neutral atoms.

We are seeking to recruit a PhD student to address the shared challenges in performing coherent control and state readout in a trapped-ion hardware platform at the National Physical Laboratory.

About You

Qualification: First degree (2:1 minimum) in physics or a physics-based subject

Desirable skills: Demonstrated laboratory and problem-solving skills gained through undergraduate project work

Funding eligibility: UK nationality is required
