About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Dispensing Assistant to join our Pharmacy team at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide dispensing support to qualified staff, working within most areas of the Pharmaceutical Service based at Colchester Hospital.
  • To dispense for in-patients, outpatients, and controlled drugs, following standard procedures and ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • To re-stock pharmaceutical products to wards and departments, maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • To operate the cash till and debit/credit card machine, taking payment for prescriptions and ensuring accurate handling of customer transactions.
  • To sell over-the-counter products under the supervision of a pharmacist, providing excellent customer service and ensuring compliance with pharmacy procedures.
Requirements
  • Previous experience of working in pharmacy (retail/hospital) and use of computers.
  • Basic Secondary Education - 'O' level/GCSE English, Maths & Science.
  • NVQ Pharmacy Services Level 2 - optional units: relevant to pharmacy practice area or equivalent.
