Overview
We are seeking a Visitor Services Coordinator to become a vital member of our team at The National Trust. In a lively environment, you will contribute significantly to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
This position operates on an annualized hours basis, where your monthly working hours may fluctuate, yet your compensation will be distributed in 12 equal payments throughout the year. The role encompasses 1170 hours annually, averaging 22.5 hours weekly, with flexibility based on operational needs.
Availability for weekend, bank holiday, and school holiday shifts is essential, with team members typically covering approximately half of all weekends and most bank holidays.
Work Environment
Reporting to the Welcome Manager, you will collaborate with a dedicated Welcome team of around 30 individuals. In this supportive atmosphere, we prioritize each other's well-being and professional growth. We are committed to your learning and career development, providing the necessary training and support to help you achieve your aspirations.
Key Responsibilities
Your role will be dynamic and focused on maintaining high presentation standards and engaging with visitors. You will be responsible for the upkeep of the primary visitor areas, which includes tasks such as:
- Maintaining cleanliness by sweeping leaves and litter picking
- Emptying visitor waste and recycling bins
- Creating and updating informational signage
- Replenishing water bowls for pets
In this capacity, you will ensure that The National Trust remains an inviting destination for visitors. Working closely with fellow Welcome & Service Coordinators, you will assist visitors in navigating the expansive grounds, promoting events, offers, and products to enhance their experience.
Your duties will also include the daily opening and closing of visitor facilities, such as play areas and chapels. On certain shifts, you will be stationed at the Information Point, addressing visitor inquiries, facilitating mobility scooter bookings, and processing membership applications.
Additionally, you will have the opportunity to participate in the Welcome rota at various locations, handling ticket sales, payment processing, and promoting our support initiatives. You will assist in event delivery throughout the year, including managing parking duties, while collaborating with a diverse team of staff and volunteers to provide outstanding visitor service.
