This role presents an exceptional opportunity for a caring educator to contribute to a nurturing and dynamic educational environment, playing a vital role in shaping the futures of students with varied needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, prepare, and deliver stimulating and tailored lessons that cater to the unique needs of Year 6 students.
- Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to address the specific learning requirements of each student.
- Encourage a positive and inclusive classroom culture that promotes student engagement and self-esteem.
- Evaluate and track student progress, maintaining precise records and providing consistent feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including teaching assistants, therapists, and other specialists, to ensure comprehensive support for students.
- Engage in professional development opportunities and contribute to the continuous enhancement of the school.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A recognized teaching qualification with experience in primary education, preferably within a special education context.
- Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and the ability to modify teaching strategies to accommodate students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine enthusiasm for working with children with diverse needs.
- A proactive attitude towards professional growth and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
Desirable:
- Experience working with students with a variety of special educational needs, including autism, learning disabilities, and emotional and behavioral challenges.
- Familiarity with specific teaching methodologies and interventions utilized in special education.
- Experience in facilitating student transitions, including the progression to secondary education.
