Job Title: Clinical Assessor

Are you a fully registered medical practitioner, psychologist, registered nurse, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or social worker looking for a change? Do you want to utilize your core skills in a different way? We are seeking a Clinical Assessor to join our team at Capita Troubles Permanent Disablement Payment Scheme (TPDPS).

About the Role:
  • Meet face-to-face with applicants to review medical evidence and determine the permanence of their condition and percentage disablement.
  • Play a proactive role in seeking insight and further medical evidence from GPs, other healthcare professionals, or services to support the applicants' TPDPS application.
  • Gather relevant information from the applicant and/or representative, and analyze and interpret clinical information along with any other supporting evidence.
  • Compile a comprehensive report in a professional and concise manner, including a detailed history, full justification, and conclusion from evidence gathered to support the Victims Payments Board (VPB) in its decision-making.
Requirements:
  • Fully registered medical practitioner, psychologist, registered nurse, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or social worker.
  • Fully registered without sanction or conditions of practice with the GMC/NMC/HCPC/NISCC with a valid PIN.
  • A valid full driving licence and access to a car.
  • Demonstratable background in a Mental Health/Psychiatric specialty.
  • Ability to work at pace, set boundaries, manage conversations, and keep to timescales.
  • Ability to relate to people from a range of socio-economic backgrounds, races, religions, and cultures.
  • Report writing skills with an ability to deal with a high percentage of work using a laptop and IT systems.
