Job Title: Young Carer Engagement Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Young Carer Engagement Worker to join our Children and Young People service team.

About the Role

This is a part-time role of 18.5 hours per week, where you will work directly with young carers and their families to assess their needs, plan services, and remove barriers to access. You will deliver the young carer programme to young carers within groups and one-to-one.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a rapid response to young carer referrals to determine immediate needs and support information gathering.
  • Manage a caseload of young carers cases to reduce risk, increase resilience, and improve outcomes.
  • Support the Early Help Team Manager in pursuing opportunities for service development.
  • Work effectively with partners to remove barriers to young carers engaging in support.
Requirements
  • Recognised Level 5 or Degree Level qualification in a relevant subject area or equivalent level of knowledge and skill gained through relevant experience and employment.
  • A full driving licence is required (unless unable to drive through disability).
  • An understanding of the risks and needs that young carers experience.
  • Experience of working directly with children, young people, and families with complex needs and risk in a relevant setting.
