Primary Outreach Officer

Job Purpose:

The Primary Outreach Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the inclusion of primary age pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties (SEMHD) in mainstream schools across Oldham. The successful candidate will work closely with the Service Manager to deliver an effective co-ordinated response for pupils who are deemed vulnerable and have complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support mainstream schools with the assessment of challenging and at-risk pupils, particularly those at risk of permanent exclusion.
  • Develop and implement a graduated response to maximise the inclusion of pupils with SEMHD.
  • Collaborate with the Outreach Team to provide ongoing support and guidance to schools.
  • Work with a committed and supportive staff team to ensure the best possible outcomes for vulnerable pupils.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will be required to undergo child protection screening, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service, as part of the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
