We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team at Recruitment Unlimited (SW) Ltd. As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and supporting a wide range of recycling equipment, ensuring smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
Main Responsibilities:- Perform routine servicing, refurbishment, and maintenance on various recycling equipment, including balers, compactors, screw compactors, screw presses, separators, shredders, conveyors, and digestion systems.
- Conduct thorough electrical and mechanical fault-finding, with a focus on hydraulics, electrics, conveyors, motors, and gearboxes.
- Execute new installations and handle emergency callouts in a timely and efficient manner.
- Develop and maintain strong on-site relationships with customers, ensuring a high level of professionalism and customer satisfaction.
- Respond positively to sudden changes in work schedules, including overnight stays, and adapt to new situations as required.
- Represent the client's service department to both new and existing customers, providing exceptional customer service and support.
- Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records and documentation related to service, callouts, installations, and on-site visits.
- Previous experience within the recycling industry is preferred, but specialized machine training is available for candidates without prior knowledge.
- Self-motivated individual with excellent customer service and strong communication skills.
- Critical thinking skills and attention to detail are essential for this role.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a willingness to travel for equipment servicing, emergency callouts, and installations.
- Full UK driving license and mechanical or electrical qualifications, certification, or experience are essential.
- Company-provided van and tools for efficient and effective service delivery.
- Personal use of the van, with tax adjustments made through HMRC.
- Company credit card for fuel, with monthly submission of receipts.
- Mobile phone and iPad provided for work use.
- Death in service policy, providing financial support to loved ones.
- 28 days of annual leave, including bank holidays, and Christmas leave.
Our client is based in Somerset, with a thriving area offering a range of opportunities for growth and development.
Job Type:This is a full-time, permanent position, with a salary range of £33,000 - £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience, based on a 40-hour week plus any additional overtime paid extra at time and a half on weekdays and double time on Sundays.
