About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Childline Volunteer Engagement Lead to join our Volunteer Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with our volunteers, ensuring they have a positive and rewarding experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to engage and retain volunteers, ensuring they feel valued and supported.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local community groups and organizations to promote Childline's services and recruit new volunteers.
  • Work closely with the Volunteer Operations team to ensure seamless delivery of volunteer services and support.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to volunteers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Monitor and evaluate volunteer engagement and retention rates, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in volunteer management and engagement, preferably in a safeguarding or charitable context.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with volunteers, community groups, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures, with a commitment to ensuring the well-being and safety of children and young people.
  • Ability to analyze data and evaluate the effectiveness of volunteer engagement strategies.
