Job Summary:

Voyage Care is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Support Worker to lead our residential service in Sawston. As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life of the individuals we support, while also contributing to the management and supervision of the service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Allocate shifts and ensure adequate staffing levels to meet the needs of the individuals we support.
  • Support the Manager with day-to-day supervision and management of the service, including supervising and mentoring junior staff members.
  • Assist with the induction and training of new colleagues, ensuring they are equipped to provide high-quality care and support.
  • Support individuals with their daily lives, helping them to gain independence and achieve their goals.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans, ensuring they are tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual.
  • Collaborate with the management team to ensure the smooth operation of the service, including ordering medication and managing finances.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Senior Support Worker or in a similar role.
  • Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • Experience working with individuals with autism, complex mental health needs, and other vulnerable groups.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the service.
