We are excited to present a unique opportunity for a seasoned Senior Building Surveyor to contribute to our esteemed organization. We seek professionals who are poised to elevate their careers while engaging in diverse project work for a wide array of public and private sector clients throughout the North of England.

As a senior expert, you will be accountable for overseeing building surveying assignments, which encompass property assessments, dilapidation consultations, party wall guidance, and construction initiatives related to new developments, refurbishments, and maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting business unit leaders in achieving strategic objectives
  • Actively engaging with clients to foster, expand, and sustain strong relationships
  • Delivering exceptional services and ensuring that building surveying outputs align with client expectations
  • Overseeing projects to ensure high-quality service delivery in accordance with established business protocols
  • Managing building surveying tasks, including assessments, dilapidation consultations, party wall advice, and construction projects from initial feasibility through design, contract management, to final handover and post-completion evaluations
  • Conducting quality assessments of construction projects
  • Collaborating with the Director to plan service delivery with overall project accountability
  • Coordinating with the director and client to select appropriate sub-consultants for project execution, adhering to approved procedures for their appointment
  • Providing sound professional advice to clients and project team members
  • Ensuring that all quantitative and financial data has been independently verified prior to distribution, maintaining records of these checks
  • Operating within the scope of your role and managing additional responsibilities with the approval of your supervisor
  • Preparing and presenting proposals to clients
  • Mentoring and guiding team members to reach their full potential
  • Developing service proposals
  • Ensuring profitable service delivery
  • Promptly informing directors of any issues that may arise on projects, particularly those affecting professional indemnity insurance
  • Identifying new business opportunities and driving growth within the Business Unit

About You

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Solid experience in Building Surveying post-MRICS qualification
  • Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in executing building surveying tasks
  • In-depth understanding of construction methodologies and materials
  • Extensive knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract frameworks
  • Proficiency in administering construction contracts as a Contracts Administrator and Employer's Agent
  • Clear comprehension of legislation affecting building contracts
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent organizational abilities and adaptability to change
  • Superior problem-solving, negotiation, financial, and numerical management skills
  • Capacity to assimilate complex information and assess requirements effectively
  • Proficient ICT skills, with a high level of competency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and lead teams

Qualifications:

  • MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors)
