IT Network Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Technical Analyst to join our team at South Western Railway. As a key member of our IT department, you will play a crucial role in the replacement of our existing WAN across the SWR network.
Key Responsibilities- Meet network engineers at site to provide access for them to install new circuits and fix faults
- Work with our network provider to migrate sites from our existing WAN to the new as smoothly as possible
- Replace and configure network switches as required
- Test that the new network is working in the required manner
- Manage the contractors when they are on site, ensuring they follow all appropriate guidelines and procedures
- Keep documentation and records up to date as changes are made
- Ensure all cabinets are left neat, tidy and secure
- Remove any old equipment and return for decommissioning as per the process
- Work with Station Managers and ticket office staff to make them aware and ensure disruption is kept to a minimum
- Assist the wider IT team with service requests as required
- A self-motivated, IT professional with a minimum of 2 years' experience working in a complex IT environment. Network experience is desirable
Basingstoke Train Station is an essential hub in the South Western Railway network, offering a convenient link between the Southwestern counties of Bournemouth, Portsmouth & Southampton to London, Reading and Birmingham.
