About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Serve Group. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, customers, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential hazards
  • Develop and implement safe operational procedures, taking into account all relevant hazards and legislation
  • Perform regular site inspections to ensure policies and procedures are being properly implemented
  • Ensure all working practices are safe and compliant with relevant legislation
  • Develop and maintain health and safety strategies, policies, and procedures
  • Lead in-house training sessions on health and safety issues and risks
  • Record and analyze inspection findings, producing reports that suggest improvements
  • Record incidents and accidents, producing statistics for management
  • Stay up-to-date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and industry developments
  • Produce management reports, newsletters, and bulletins on health and safety matters
  • Ensure equipment is installed and maintained safely
  • Manage and organize the safe disposal of hazardous substances
  • Provide expert advice on specialist areas, such as fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery, and occupational diseases
Requirements
  • Qualification in occupational health and safety, such as a master's, NVQ, BSC, or NEBOSH national diploma
  • COSHH training
  • Experience in providing advice to managers and supervisors
  • Experience in handling H&S investigations
  • Experience in formulating, implementing, and revising H&S policies and procedures
  • Experience with ISO and TISAX certification requirements (advantageous)
