About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Membership and Adoptions Assistant to join our team at Chester Zoo. As a key member of our sales and customer service team, you will play a vital role in promoting our membership and adoptions programs to our visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales and Customer Service: Sell membership and adoptions face-to-face with customers in a polite and efficient manner to meet our annual sales targets.
  • Cash Handling and Administration: Check and secure cash taken through the till and assist with cash up, as well as process the administration of membership and adoptions sales, including data input, online applications, and email communications.
  • Stock Management: Assist in the monitoring of literature and stock, including stationery and adoption images.
  • Team Support: Support new seasonal staff to ensure all aspects of the job role are understood and carried out efficiently.
  • Customer Support: Assist customers waiting in the queue by answering questions and issuing membership cards.

Requirements
  • Education: Good standard of education, including maths and English
  • Cash Handling Experience: Till and cash handling experience
  • Customer Service Skills: Excellent customer service skills, both verbal and written
  • Administration Experience: Previous administration and data input experience
  • GDPR Knowledge: Good knowledge of GDPR
  • Microsoft Office Skills: Competent user of Microsoft Office software, particularly Outlook, Word, Teams, and Excel
  • Customer Facing Sales Experience: Customer-facing sales experience in a fast-paced environment
