**About the Role**

We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our Test Equipment team at Smiths Group. As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing test equipment for our high-end gas seals technology.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Design and develop test equipment using CAD software and maintain technical drawings and data.
  • Ensure designs meet safety and design standards.
  • Manage the movement of test equipment between service centers and storage facilities.
  • Support suppliers and manage tooling designed or originally used by John Crane.
  • Obtain quotes and offload work to subcontractors when necessary.
  • Load parts for manufacturing in-house.

**Requirements**

  • Studies in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in a design engineering role with good experience of 2D & 3D CAD.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) and some knowledge of creating/updating/maintaining databases.
  • Experience/knowledge of rotating equipment and high-pressure test equipment is an asset.
