We are seeking to add a skilled Construction Cost Consultant to our team on a permanent, full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities
In this position, you will engage in all phases of cost management projects, working collaboratively with our team, clients, and external stakeholders to prepare and present tender documentation, including:
- Conducting feasibility studies, initial estimates, cost plans, and advising on design economics during the early project stages.
- Offering insights on whole life costing methodologies.
- Creating high-quality tender documentation and managing pricing processes during tender phases.
- Performing preliminary tender analyses, preparing cost breakdowns, and negotiating contract sums under supervision.
- Overseeing all post-contract activities, including payment valuations, financial reporting, and monitoring of actual versus anticipated expenditures.
- Supporting Contract Administrators in preparing instructions and evaluating claims for time extensions.
- Assisting in project management tasks, setting objectives, providing guidance, and issuing progress reports.
- Finalizing accounts and negotiating with contractors, including verifying claims and managing audit processes.
- Identifying potential business development opportunities.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated experience in a similar cost management role, with a proven ability to manage projects through all phases.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Professional membership of RICS, with aspirations towards achieving Chartered Status.
- Familiarity with current Construction Design & Management (CDM) Regulations and health and safety legislation.
- Strong analytical skills, capable of presenting findings to various stakeholders.
- Current CSCS card holder or willingness to obtain one.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with BCIS Online and NBS Building is desirable.
- Project management experience across various building projects is a plus.
