Job Title: Industrial Electrical Engineer

Join MDE Consultants Ltd as an Industrial Electrical Engineer and take on a challenging role that requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and a passion for maintenance.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Industrial Electrical Engineer to join our team. As an Industrial Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing planned preventative and predictive maintenance services to our factory operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled and planned maintenance repairs of equipment
  • Attend emergency/unscheduled repairs of the factory equipment during unplanned shutdowns
  • Capable of repairing electrical, electro-mechanical, pneumatic & hydraulic devices
  • Perform preventative maintenance on machines and equipment throughout the factory
  • Safely use all hand and power tools
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems related to electrical failure, report conditions, and recommend steps to be taken
  • Perform preventative maintenance such as changing contacts, checking motors, according to instructions
  • PLC knowledge will be an asset but not essential
  • Install cables, conduit, for new equipment or replacing old one
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A sound knowledge of electrical preventative engineering principles
  • A comprehensive understanding of condition-based plant monitoring systems
  • A formal technical qualification in Electrical Engineering (e.g. NVQ Level 3 / C&G Level 3 Electrical, HNC or equivalent)
  • A good working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and the application of continuous process environment
