About the Job

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Tutor to join our team. As a Special Education Tutor, you will play a vital role in providing personalized instruction to students with disabilities, helping them to bridge achievement gaps and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans to meet the unique needs of each student
  • Provide one-on-one instruction and support to students in a variety of settings, including classrooms and online
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective educational experience for students
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress and needs
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
  • Virginia Teaching Certificate/License with one or more endorsements in Special Education
  • Experience teaching students with disabilities and developing individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
