Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Mitie, a leading provider of project services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and profitable execution of projects, working closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager and leading a team of Trainees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze RFQ documents, schedules, budgets, and tenders to ensure accurate and timely project delivery
- Issue enquiries and complete quotation analysis to ensure best value for the company
- Attend meetings with clients and assess rates and prices to ensure compliance with contractual agreements
- Review budgets and procurement programmes to ensure effective cost control and management
- Manage sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of project requirements
- Prepare and submit reports, valuations, and invoices to ensure accurate and timely payment
- Manage change and variations to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and minimize financial impact
- Negotiate final accounts to ensure fair and reasonable settlements
- Provide guidance and advice to other Project team members to ensure effective collaboration and communication
Requirements:
- Excellent understanding of projects and their lifecycle, from initiation to completion
- Ability to understand and interpret design drawings and contractual agreements
- Excellent contract knowledge, ideally NEC 3
- Excellent IT skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other system-based information services
- Excellent commercial understanding and ability to manage risk and opportunities
- Good supplier management skills, following industry best practices and guidelines
- Ability to work in a team, collaborating and communicating effectively with others
