About the Role:

Ignite Recruitment Services is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join a prestigious engineering firm. The successful candidate will be responsible for mechanical installation, repairs, maintenance, and support on a variety of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out mechanical installations, repairs, and routine maintenance on a range of equipment and systems.
  • Support electricians with mechanical tasks on various projects, ensuring seamless collaboration and efficient project delivery.
  • Test and inspect mechanical systems using devices like vibration sensors and infrared cameras to identify potential issues and optimize performance.
  • Perform pump replacements, pipework installations, valve problem solving, fault finding, and alignment tasks to ensure mechanical systems operate at peak efficiency.
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance on pumping systems to prevent downtime and ensure continuous operation.
  • Adhere to Health & Safety standards and complete risk assessments to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Respond to emergency works and shutdown situations as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prepare and submit work progress reports when needed, providing accurate and timely information to stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent, with a strong foundation in mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Experience in an onsite engineering environment, with a proven track record of mechanical installation, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of pipework, screens, pumps, and motors, with the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
  • CSCS, PASMA, IPAF, or Confined Space certification (desired but not essential), demonstrating a commitment to safety and compliance.
  • Hardworking, with good communication skills and a positive attitude, able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • EUSR Water & Sewage (desired but not essential), with a strong understanding of water and sewage systems.
