Role Overview
We are pleased to announce an opportunity for an Environmental Sustainability Trainee to join our dedicated team for a summer internship. This position offers a chance to engage in a hybrid work environment, allowing for both remote and on-site collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will deliver essential administrative and clerical assistance to the sustainability and environmental performance division. Ideal candidates will be pursuing or have completed a relevant undergraduate degree in environmental management or sustainability and should hold student membership in a recognized professional organization (such as CIWEM or IEMA). Candidates should demonstrate self-motivation, strong organizational skills, and a thorough approach to their work, showcasing the ability to apply initiative to achieve high-quality outcomes.
This internship will provide exposure to various aspects related to sustainability and climate change, enhancing your practical experience in the field.

Qualifications and Skills Required
- Enrollment in or completion of a relevant undergraduate degree in environmental management or sustainability.
- Active student membership in a relevant professional body (CIWEM, IEMA).
- Demonstrated self-motivation, organization, and thoroughness in work.
- Insight and understanding of environmental management and waste management issues.
- Experience working independently and collaboratively with various stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills, with a professional approach to inquiries.
- High levels of resourcefulness and initiative.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and similar software applications.
- A flexible approach to work responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Scottish Pollution Prevention and Waste Legislation.
- A valid UK/EU/EEA driving license.
Contract Details
- Fixed-term contract for a duration of 16 weeks.
- Full-time position, requiring 37 hours per week.
Work Environment
This role will be situated within the Planning, Property & Performance team. The working schedule is Monday to Friday.
