Job Opportunity: Behaviour Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health challenges in a classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties in a classroom setting
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized support plans
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to children, helping them to process difficult emotions and develop coping strategies
  • Assist children in developing social skills and building positive relationships with peers and adults
  • Contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding and knowledge of children's mental health and wellbeing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, teachers, and other stakeholders
  • Patience, resilience, and good behaviour management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach
  • Willingness to attend training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
