Our client, a privately owned property developer, is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to work on multiple small residential projects across Essex. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the financial and administrative aspects of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Project Management: Oversee the financial and administrative aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Cost Estimation: Conduct feasibility studies, evaluate proposed projects, and calculate costs, including estimating material, labor, and timeframes.
- Document Preparation: Prepare documents, including tender packages, contracts, and bills of quantities, to ensure accurate and transparent communication with clients and stakeholders.
- Risk Management: Identify and weigh commercial risks, negotiate contracts and schedules, and manage budgets to minimize financial exposure.
- Progress Monitoring: Monitor construction progress, ensuring compliance with regulations and quality standards, and provide regular budget and progress reports.
- Advisory Role: Advise on legal matters, including risks and disputes, and oversee sub-contractors throughout the construction process.
- Qualifications: A Quantity Surveying degree and relevant experience working as a Quantity Surveyor in the residential sector.
- Skills: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, knowledge of building techniques, budgeting skills, organizational and planning skills, negotiation and leadership skills, and a strong work ethic.
