Senior Hardware Engineer

The RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hardware Engineer to join our effective product development team. As a Senior Hardware Engineer, you will play a key role in quickly building, iterating on, and deploying modern automated systems, robotic platforms, tools, and processes to change the world of Chemistry through automation.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the maturation of existing and developing technologies towards commercial-grade solutions that meet the business, user-experience, and operating needs of a rapidly growing company.
- Take leadership of fast-turnaround mechatronic projects, ensuring solid Design for Manufacturing and Design for Maintenance to facilitate worldwide technology deployment.
- Work with the Hardware Systems Architect to ensure consistent engineering practices and technologies are applied across all Chemify products.
- Introduce new processes and operational functions across the organization by integrating all components into highly efficient workflows, decreasing costs, increasing quality, improving turn-around-time, and maximizing the overall throughput of the organization.
- Collaborate with Software Engineering, Quality, Laboratory Operations, and Research Chemistry to optimize the day-to-day workflows of the laboratory and company in general, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and scalability in the company's ability to deliver on multiple complex chemical synthesis campaigns in parallel.
- BEng Hons or equivalent in mechanical engineering, design, or equivalent.
- Over 6 years of experience in design, development, testing, and launch of hardware and mechatronics solutions in highly collaborative and cross-functional environments, including at least two years of demonstrable leadership of engineering design projects.
- A proven track record of building successful mechatronics and fluidic solutions to technical problems, trailblazing design and technology as needed.
- Experience designing for a range of manufacturing and fabrication methods such as machining, sheet metal forming, moulding, 3D printing.
- Strong understanding of core mechanical engineering principles such as material selection, GD&T, fluid mechanics.
- Experience designing low-pressure pneumatic and hydraulic systems, linear and rotating mechanical systems.
- Experience in platform technology companies focused on scientific challenges a plus.
