Job Summary

The Waltham Forest Federated GP Network is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Lead to join our team. As a key member of our clinical leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing nursing-led services, ensuring high-quality patient care, and promoting clinical excellence.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement nursing-led services, including the development of new services and the enhancement of existing ones.
  • Provide clinical leadership and supervision to Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, and Healthcare Assistants, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Work collaboratively with the Medical Director and Senior Service Manager to establish clear goals and standards for the nursing team, ensuring they are aligned with the network's strategic objectives.
  • Contribute to the development of nursing-led services, including the development of new services and the enhancement of existing ones.
  • Provide education and training to nursing staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Ensure that the nursing team is compliant with mandatory training and e-learning requirements.
  • Chair quarterly nurse meetings and provide regular updates to the nursing team.
  • Work with the GP Hubs to ensure they are CQC compliant.
Requirements
  • General Registered Nurse with recent primary care experience.
  • Evidence of post-registration education and training.
  • Evidence of personal development.
  • Masters Degree or evidence of working at the equivalent level.
  • Leadership Qualification or evidence of practical application at this level.
  • Commitment to working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Able to deliver core service requirements.
  • Experience in managing, planning, and completing projects.
  • Experience in initiating, leading, and managing change.
  • Experience in performance management.
  • Experience of collaborative and partnership working.
  • Experience in implementing protocols and clinical guidelines.
  • Experience with quality initiatives such as clinical benchmarking.
Desirable Skills
  • Clinical skills in cervical cytology, immunisation, vaccination, ear care, and wound care.
  • Communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Uses initiative.
  • Management of long-term conditions.
