Surfacing Artist

We are seeking a talented Surfacing Artist to join our team at DNEG, a world-leading visual effects and animation company. As a Surfacing Artist, you will be responsible for creating high-quality textures, surfaces, and materials for our 3D characters and environments.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with the production team to create textures, surface, and groom qualities needed for the completion of CG Characters and hard-surface models.
- Deliver high-quality hair, fur, feathers, and organic elements for our 3D characters and environments.
- Collaborate with Art Directors, Modellers, and their Leads to achieve the desired looks of assets for production.
- Maintain or exceed the consistent high level of work while meeting deadlines.
- Experience working on high-quality shading, surfacing, and texturing.
- Familiarity with high-level content of Animation production.
- Attention to details in textures and materials.
- Experience with fur and feather grooming tools, such as Shave and a Haircut or Maya's exGen.
- Proficient in Mari (Preferred), Zbrush, Photoshop, or BodyPaint.
- A good understanding of material properties with regards to shading.
- Demo reel with descriptive breakdown illustrating knowledge and experience in painting, illustration, or design.
