Finance Business Partner Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Business Partner to join our team at Deerfoot IT Resources Limited. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in providing strategic financial support and guidance to our organization.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive financial business partnering services, offering strategic financial advice and technical support. Your main responsibilities will include:

  1. Building strong financial management processes and sharing best practices across the organization
  2. Providing added-value financial advice to budget holders, managers, and Directors
  3. Supporting business cases and options appraisals to drive decision-making and efficiency improvements
  4. Ensuring financial control and governance across service delivery
  5. Collaborating with senior finance colleagues to provide high-level strategic advice and support corporate initiatives
Key Responsibilities

As a Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for:

  1. Providing financial guidance to senior managers and portfolio holders, supporting resource management
  2. Contributing to the statutory accounts process and liaising with both internal and external auditors
  3. Identifying cost-saving opportunities and mitigating financial risks by developing robust business cases
  4. Supporting service managers in budget setting, monitoring, and forecasting
  5. Coordinating the preparation and submission of financial reports, including year-end statutory accounts
  6. Offering financial advice during scrutiny meetings and portfolio briefings
  7. Leading and developing a small team, including Accountancy Officers and Apprentices
The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Finance Business Partner who possesses:

  1. Public Sector Experience: Previous experience in a public sector finance role is essential
  2. Qualifications: A member of a CCAB/CIMA body (or studying towards one) and actively engaged in CPD
  3. Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze financial data, identify risks, and provide solutions
  4. Communication Skills: Capable of presenting complex financial information to a range of stakeholders, including senior managers and elected members
  5. Leadership: Experience in managing or mentoring finance staff, with strong organizational skills to meet deadlines
