Construction Manager

Thorn Baker Construction is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team. As a leading masonry specialist, they require a professional with a proven track record of assisting large and small house builders.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of project contracts and be able to prepare accurate project costs. They will also be responsible for maintaining a full understanding of the developing project and ensuring that variation information is issued and approved to timescales that facilitate successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fully understand project contracts and ensure project costs reflect these.
- Prepare project costs using agreed Schedules of Rates and sub-contractors quotes.
- Ensure sub-contract and purchase orders are issued accurately and on time.
- Pro-actively monitor and negotiate sub-contract variations.
- Identify and highlight risk and work with the project team to eliminate or reduce this.
Requirements:
- Minimum qualification HND in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
- At least 3 years' relevant experience within the last 8 years.
- Fully conversant with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
