Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team in the UK. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for manufacturing machined components using CNC lathes and vertical machining centers. You will work closely with our production team to ensure high-quality products and meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Download programs from the file server and set up CNC tooling assemblies
• Setup and run CNC machining centers, including 3-axis and 5-axis vertical machining centers
• Prove out new NPI programs and use inspection equipment to monitor tolerance requirements
• Perform daily and weekly maintenance tasks in accordance with machine center maintenance plans
• Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and complete necessary paperwork
• Work with the production manager and programming team to improve processes and reduce cycle times
• Support team colleagues and maintain good housekeeping in accordance with 5S processes and practices

Requirements

• Indentured apprentice or equivalent modern apprenticeship in mechanical engineering
• Experience in setting and running 3-axis and 5-axis vertical machining centers and CNC lathes
• NVQ Level 2+3 mechanical engineering or equivalent
• B-Tec national diploma mechanical engineering or equivalent
• Ability to use a wide range of inspection equipment to facilitate inspection of completed components
