About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Store Manager to join our team at Octavia. As a key member of our retail division, you will be responsible for the overall performance of one of our Central or West London based shops.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, develop, and motivate a high-performing team of volunteers and staff to achieve sales and profit targets.
  • Analyze customer profiles, buying trends, and competitive information to drive business growth and communicate insights to the Area Manager.
  • Oversee the execution and processing of incoming and outgoing donations, ensuring maximum value is obtained.
  • Ensure the visual presentation of the shop meets or exceeds Octavia's standards, creating an engaging and welcoming environment for customers.
  • Develop and execute community engagement initiatives and events within budget, aligning with Octavia's policies and procedures.
  • Build relationships with the local community, identifying opportunities for volunteering and increasing donations.
  • Attend and contribute to regular team meetings and training, sharing best practices and adhering to Octavia's core values.
  • Represent Octavia as a brand ambassador, supporting fundraising activities and championing community engagement.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a shop manager in a charity retail or high street retail environment.
  • Excellent customer service, team working, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of displaying, selling, and promoting high-end luxury items.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to create a customer journey to the highest level.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure, problem-solve, and make decisions.
  • Good level of numeracy and ability to create high-end visual displays and shop layouts.
  • At least two years' previous experience in a retail environment.

Benefits

This is a 35-hour per week role with an annual salary of £25,260, plus fantastic benefits including up to 10% pension contributions and the opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative team.
