Risk Management Leader: Model Validation and Compliance

HSBC is seeking an experienced professional to join its Model Risk Management team as the Global Head of Traded Risk and Treasury, Independent Model Review - Risk and Compliance. This role is a key part of the bank's second line of defense, responsible for providing assurance on the effectiveness of model risk management across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and implementation of model validation methodologies for traded risk and treasury models, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Provide strategic guidance on model risk management, including the identification and mitigation of potential risks.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure model risk management is integrated into business decision-making.
- Develop and maintain relationships with regulators and other external stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage and prioritize model validation activities, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
- Support the development of skills and knowledge across the Model Risk Management team.
- Proven experience in model risk management, preferably in a globally significant financial institution.
- Strong knowledge of model risk regulatory requirements and the ability to interpret their impact on the bank.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks.
