Wardell Armstrong LLP is currently recruiting for a Project Manager to oversee various large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects across a wide range of sectors, including mineral exploration, rail, wind/solar, and construction, both in the UK and internationally.
The successful candidate will work within the Commercial and Project Management Team based in our Stoke office, assisting lead Project Managers in the commercial and management of projects. They will be involved in all aspects of the project lifecycle, from tender to completion, contributing to pricing and seeking to minimize costs while achieving required standards and quality in accordance with contract and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and disseminate project programs and schedules;
- Manage day-to-day site queries and ensure adherence to project scope and specifications;
- Report progress against program and budget to the Project Manager and Technical Director;
- Efficiently manage and issue accurate, timely, and compliant notices and correspondence;
- Identify contractual and commercial risks and opportunities for the Contract Leader at pricing stage;
- Prepare and agree applications for payment or assessment and preparation of payment certificates;
- Maintain registers of variations, delay, extension times, and claims;
- Assist in change management and cost control;
- Assist with preparation of monthly progress valuations and claims for work completed;
- Assist in the production of monthly cost reports, forecasts, and Contract Leader Reports;
- Ensure all health, safety, and environmental risk situations are brought to the attention of the Contract Leader/Project Manager;
- Conduct regular site visits to inspect quality of work and compliance with the plan (where required);
- Contribute to securing opportunities and repeat clients due to exceptional service delivery.
Requirements:
- Experience in a project management role within the development sector and relevant degree;
- A driving license and own vehicle;
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office;
- Demonstrable experience of understanding and/or administering common forms of construction contract conditions, particularly NEC;
- Sound knowledge of health and safety considerations and legislation;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Projects;
- Commercially aware;
- Working towards a relevant qualification such as APM, CEng, NECReg, or other relevant qualifications.
